Notes from This Week
Pages from my life — curated with style and soul
Welcome,
This week marked the real start of fall. It’s our tradition to decorate for Halloween the first Saturday of October and make a trip to Spirit Halloween — a ritual that officially kicks off the season in our house. We followed it with a weekend of apple picking, cooler air, and the first real signs of fall settling in.
By midweek, I found myself cooking more, eating clean, and getting back on track. The rhythm feels steadier again — and I finally recorded my first podcast since the last session, a reminder of how much I’ve missed creating and sharing in that space.
📚 Literature & Thought
Currently reading: Fashionopolis: Why What We Wear Matters by Dana Thomas.
This one hits close to home. It’s a deep look into the true cost of fashion — not just in dollars, but in ethics, environment, and human impact. As someone who’s lived in this world for years, I find myself both nodding along and pausing to reflect on how much the industry needs to shift. It’s equal parts sobering and inspiring — the kind of book that reminds you why education, awareness, and change really matter.
🎧 Listening In
Podcasts
Really enjoyed the guys over at PBD this week — they continue to deliver thoughtful, sharp commentary that makes you think. Their mix of business, culture, and current events always feels balanced and worth the listen.
Candace Owens’ Wednesday episode was another standout. A lot of people don't accept her at face value and they listen to what the media says about her. If you actually listen to her episodes they are always taken out of context. EVERYONE on twitter seemed to agree with her and light her up in a positive way (for once) after her Wednesday episode.
And Paul Saladino on The Him & Her Show covered some of my favorite wellness topics. His perspective on health and lifestyle feels grounded — challenging the norm in a way that actually makes sense.
🌊 Day to Day
The days went quick, they always do and the weekend was one of my FAVS.. Everyone was a winner this week…. Windsor was so proud of her perfect spelling test, Emmaline sooo cute in her ballet class and Arabella is making so much progress with her back handsprings… the picture is of her in the middle of a triple!
✨ Inspiration
This week, I’ve found a lot of inspiration in cooking and eating healthy again. Getting back into that rhythm has felt grounding — a creative reset in its own way.

Simply Project of the Week
The Define Your Style Guide felt especially fitting to share this week. After reading Fashionopolis, I’ve been thinking a lot about what we wear — and why it matters. The book reminded me how personal style and sustainability really go hand in hand. When you understand your style, you consume less, choose better, and connect more deeply with what you already have
This guide is part reflection, part curation — a chance to pause, look at your wardrobe with fresh eyes, and redefine what feels like you.
Micro Style Tip
Monochrome doesn’t have to mean boring — it’s one of the easiest ways to look put together without trying. The trick is to play with tone and texture. Think soft knits against crisp cotton, or matte fabrics next to a subtle sheen. That quiet contrast keeps it interesting while still feeling calm and cohesive.

With Intention
Cooking, painting, and getting back into healthy habits reminded me that creativity and discipline aren’t opposites — they support each other. One keeps you steady; the other keeps you inspired.
